Well done Charles Penn and Thom Harrison who completed Spinal Injuries Association’s (SIA) 193 Mile cycle on Saturday 21st May 2022 raising £3,500 between them, contributing to the overall event total of £80,000. Huge thanks to the many clients and staff who donated – it’s very much appreciated.

Perspective’s Group Head of Marketing, Charles Penn, said: “What a great experience. The hand/adapted bikers are like Olympians – they were truly amazing with their determination to get up 10,000 feet of hills come what may. A real inspiration to everyone. They live life to the full and enjoy themselves, whilst being the kindest and most supportive people to everyone else. Team ‘TuscanTakeover’ was a great bunch comprising 40 people of all ages and backgrounds with a bonding commitment to SIA. The exceptional organisation from SIA and Chapeau Events made it bearable through the very challenging moments. This 193 mile ride pushed me to my limits and is one of the top 5 hardest physical things I’ve ever done. Thom is a real star cyclist, but even he found hills to go up and down that were demanding enough!”
Thom Harrison, financial planner based in Chorley said: “An amazing journey, and for a truly worthy cause. Our donors’ generosity will make such a difference to the lives of people affected by spinal cord injuries. “To hear first-hand about the work of SIA, particularly how they assist people immediately after an injury, was an eye opener and I will remain a great supporter of theirs in the future. On a personal level my thanks are also due to Chapeau Events in Manchester who organised and managed the ride. I am extremely proud of what we have all achieved together. Well done Charles as a Type 1 diabetic who did three of his longest ever days on a bike, with the most climbing, in the heat, and there was never a moment when he wavered.”
