Mike is Technical Director of Perspective (North East) Ltd, a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
With over 35 years’ experience, Mike advises clients on all aspects of pensions and financial planning, particularly individuals before and after retirement. He prides himself on trying to explain complex issues and make things understandable, helping clients clarify and achieve their financial goals and objectives.
He is an expert on the NHS Pension schemes and the Universities Superannuation scheme, and their interaction with the tax system which are areas where very specific advice is required.
As a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and a Chartered Financial Planner, he is now concentrating on putting that knowledge to use. Mike was one of the first Chartered Financial Planners when this qualification was introduced in 2006, and the broad range of his experience has also helped him become a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
Mike’s first job in financial services in 1984 was in the group pensions department for a large insurance company. Since then he gained experience as a broker consultant before becoming an IFA in 1997.
Outside of work Mike likes to wind down by playing golf, walking and enjoying the North Northumbrian coast, where he lives.
