He initially worked for a small direct sales business concentrating on savings and protection, before moving on to a large multi-office general insurance broker based in the South and South East of the UK, where he acted as the financial adviser covering offices over a large part of Essex.
This was followed in the 1990’s by 10 years at a local general insurance broker with an independent financial advisors (IFA) subsidiary, dealing with mortgages and investments, as well as pensions and protection for both private and corporate clients.
Over the next 20 years were again as an IFA, associated with an accountancy business that was founded in 1934. During most of that time (the 20 odd years, not since 1934!), he was also a director and shareholder of the business, dealing predominantly with new clients’ investment and pension needs, as well as providing an ongoing service to existing clients, including inheritance tax (IHT) planning.
Outside work, Paul enjoys cooking, spending time with his family (especially the grandchildren), going out locally (he lives in a Victorian conservation area, a few minutes’ walk from the world’s longest pleasure pier), and holidays, with Mallorca being a regular favourite, especially as it can be reached via an airport that’s only 10 minutes from home.
